Setup Your Own Web Server



You Might have heard about web servers. I am now going to explain about how to setup your own web server and host it to your own ip-address. Seting up a web server can be done when you run apache server. I will use XAMPP to run Apache server. Google for XAMPP Server and download it





Once You have Installed the server, Start the control panel and Click on the start buttons in front of Apache and MySql. Now You have started with your xampp server.










Now goto C:\xampp\htdocs and delete all the files present in it. Now Put all the files you want to host on your server. To check this goto run, type http://127.0.0.1/ and press enter.But when u will enter your IP-Adress in the url, you will see the screen:

This means that the server will not allow any foriegn address to visit the site. So to remove this error, goto run, type C:\xampp\apache\conf\extra\httpd-xampp.conf and press enter. Open this file with notepad and then find the line "Deny from all" and delete that line. Now You are done and have setup your own server
